To Pause With The Sun
2018, Acrylic on canvas, 1175 x 830 mm.
“If I were suddenly to pause; to set beyond the horizon as dusk arrives, At last, in the bed of boundless night, I would fall asleep with the sun.” Nitin Sawhney
For a moment before sunset, the sky is flooded with yellows and reds as the warmth of the day gives over to the cool of the night. Clouds of purple appear in stark contrast to the sheets of orange behind. Who has not paused briefly from our tasks when a view presents itself, and looked upwards in wonder at our sun lighting up the heavens, for us it seems.
